Do you get time off for your religious holiday observances?

It is that time of year when many religions have holiday observances. Hopefully your employer is one that allows you the leeway to practice your faith. Many employers are pretty good about that kind of thing with floating holidays and things like that.

Remember that if you are not given the opportunity to observe your religions holy days that the law requires any company with more than 15 employees to make accomodations for your religious observances as long as your absence that day causes no more than a minimal impact on the business.

Please also let your employer know far in advance. Don’t go to your boss the day before and say I need off for the holiday. In that case I highly doubt that you are going to get the day off.

Happy holidays to all no matter what your faith.
