Bigotry and Racism should be forced away

There are entirely too many issues around the country that the government does not appear to be quickly going after. If I was in charge it would stop quickly. In my opinion every single person that is going after people in other races and also going after other religions.

There is no problem at all from actual races and none from any religion.

There are of course some extremists but it is just them. It has nothing at all to do with any race or any religion. It is just the extremists that need to all be found and prisoned as soon as possible.

How The World Should Come Together

There are many religions around the world which in many cases refuse to tolerate any other religions.

I truly believe that there is one overall Deity that has created this world.

Many religions should realize that there is just one powerful deity.

The name of the deity will differ by religion but it will still be the same deity. All of the terrorists and all of the lunatic politicians around the world need to start thinking about what will happen.

As they age and finally pass away their deity and the prophets such as Jesus Christ and Mohamed will be waiting for them to reach the other side and will let them know that they were not treating anyone as they should have based on their religion so an awful lot of these twits that are attempting to overpower their people with there “religious beliefs’ will be quite unhappy when they finally actually meet the deity and their prophets and end up being sent to hell since they did nothing to actually help people just did things to hurt them so all of you morons better start becoming realistic and helpful.

Stop Bigotry Everywhere In This Country!!

We have absolutely no business allowing our country to bigoted and biased against people based on their ethnicity, religion, gender or sexuality.

We need to get rid of the politicians and corporate leaders that call out their religion as a reason to deny people things that they have every right to.

These people do not go by the actual meaning of their religious writings. They pull up a phrase from their Bible or Koran or whatever other religious writings their religion uses.

The problem is that these jerks pull up these phrases and then place a severe spin ion them to try and make people believe that it means what they say it means as opposed to meaning what it actually means.

We should all look at those phrases and make sure the phrases are being quoted exactly and then we should look at the actual meaning of them rather then going with whatever the political and rich jerks want you to believe.

There is actually no excuse for doing what is being done. For instance those that come out and say things like all Mexicans coming illegally across the border are Thieves, Drug Mules and Rapists ( Donald Trump) are absolute idiots.

Yes there are certainly some criminals that sneak across the border but the vast majority are those that will make more money here even when an employer screws them over and pays far less than minimum wage but even in that circumstance they are still likely making more money that they did in Mexico or in a number of Latin American countries.

So lets vote out all the idiots that are standing in the way of people moving forward based on their race or the fact that they are females.

Every single person that has no experience should start at the exact same pay rate and then get raises going forward based on their abilities and or productivity.

For people that have years of experience starting them at base pay should be fined. A company that hires a number of very well experienced employees should pay them a bunch more and in many cases that experience could reduce the number of employees needed.

Look at the experience. DO not under any circumstances look at the gender, race, religion, sexuality or age. Stop harassing people that can help you be incredibly successful.

Fir instance I have submitted over 300 applications for jobs that I have 15 years of experience in and I have received absolutely not response to any of them. I have no doubts that most of this is age and experience discrimination but there is not any way to prove that since you get either no response at all or a thanks but no thanks email and you get absolutely no information on why you did not get the job.

Since companies refuse to tell you why they refuse to hire you than tells me that it is an illegal harassment but since they will not tell you why there is no way to prove it.

We Need To Fix Racial and Religious Issues

We need to stop all the crap that is going on. There is no excuse whatsoever for the ridiculous number of unarmed black men that have been shot and killed for absolutely no good reason by white police officers.

I am an old white guy and I find this Racial Bigotry really offensive. It makes me wonder if people are just trying to turn things backwards and head back to the pre-Civil War times.

I believe that there are far too many white people in political positions that are working to turn things around. I rather suspect that there are a lot Rich old white folks that are offended by the fact that white people are likely to become a minority in this country in the not too distant future.

I think they are being stupid. Then there are all of those people that assume that anyone that belongs to the Religion of Islam is automatically a terrorist which is also a stupid belief. And of course too many people are unable to tell the difference between people at all.

That is proven by the jerk that shot a number of people at the Sikh temple because he believed they were Muslim terrorists. The problem of course is that Muslims do not wear turbans for the most part but Sikhs wear Turbans all the time and they are not terrorists.

For me, unless a person is a criminal or an actual terrorist I don’t care what color a persons skin is nor do I care what their religion is. If someone needs some assistance they are welcome to my house to call for help or to just take cover from terrible weather for a short period of time.

Open your eyes and your brains people and start being decent to the rest of the world.

Profiling

Are we going to someday become a country that truly treats people equally? We are not anywhere near that at the moment. We have different groups of people all over the country that go out of their way to pick on pretty much anyone that is not essentially a clone of them.

Despite the claims to the contrary Ferguson for instance is quite obviously a town that is incredibly racist.

We need to stop this but in order to do it we really need to make sure that every single registered voter gets to the polls in November. We also need to fix the voter suppression laws that are in place in a lot of states. We absolutely need require voter ID but that is all. Getting rid of early voting is stupid. It is not just one party that votes in early voting so there is no reason to stop it.

As far as profiling goes there is finally an fairly serious attempt to stop it. Check out this article.

Politicians that are Religious Idiots!

I am so tired of the stupidity that we continue to see from politicians of all parties.

Here is an article that shows obvious bias against religions other than Christianity from a potential politician. Wake up people. The reason the pilgrims came to this country was to get away from biases like that. They did not want to be forced into joining the Church of England nor did they want to be forced into living life the way the church thought it should be lived.

Everyone has the right to their own beliefs and has the freedom to speak about it. The problem here is that way too many people believe that freedom of speech and freedom of religion gives them the right to trample on the rights of those that do not practice their religions.

STOP IT. That is not the way it should work and I would really love to see people start being fined for trampling the rights of others. And everyone should remember that according to the Supreme Court Corporations are people too so they need to also be fined. And the fines need to start going to the people whose rights were trampled on rather than just being thrown in the General Fund to be wasted on some stupid Pork project.

Everyone should remember. Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion does NOT give you the right to discriminate against people whose lifestyle or religion you do not agree with.

Religion Is Not A Dangerous Thing

I get quite tired of hearing and seeing news stories about people being profiled just because of their Religion.

Religion itself is not a problem and it matters not what religion we are talking about.

Far too many people have no desire to know the facts about the various religions around the world. The only thing that most people pay attention to are the stories about the radical members of the religions.

There is no large group anywhere in the world, religious or not, that does not have at least a few radical members and unfortunately those few can severely harm and, in the eyes of many, marginalize the religion they are part of.

For instance here is an article that shows TSA stopping the same man almost every single time he travels which happens often since he travels for his job at times. Everyone must go security when they are flying and I have no problem with that but at some point it becomes absurd and just simply abusive to stop someone for the same reason every time they come through. Even after the State Department clears him every time.

Then we have those that are not capable of distinguishing between people of different faiths.

Remember those that were shot and killed at the Sikh Temple? The idiot that shot them was under the belief that they were Muslims. And even if they were how does that give him a reason for killing them?

Come on people

. Read a little bit and pay attention to the world around you. Things will be much brighter and we will probably have fewer incidents if people would just wake up and open their eyes!

There is really no excuse for this. Please folks raise your children to be human beings. Stop teaching them that everything is a conspiracy from some religion or country to destroy us all.

Religion and Free Speech Around the World.

The last several days have been horrible and terrifying for many and it makes it far more difficult to try and reduce tensions in the Middle East and in other Islamic countries around the world.

We have freedom of speech and of religion in this country and I respect and stand behind both of those principles but there is an exception to freedom of speech that has been fought through and the Supreme Court has said it is not permissible to shout “fire” in a crowded movie theater.

In my opinion, this movie clip that was released and since the clip is a representation of the movie then the entirety of the movie, in my eyes is shouting “fire” in a movie theater with 10s of millions of patrons throughout the world.

What many people fail to understand is that most of the people in the Middle East have no experience at all with free speech. They have lived under dictatorial rule for generations and no one knows anything except a state run media which says what the rulers want it to say.

With an upbringing in that situation, I find i completely understandable that they would believe that this is something that was condoned by the Untied States government. I do not in any way condone the violence but we need to remember that we are dealing with societies that are, in many ways, still living in the Middle Ages and bringing a 21st century world to them is shocking at the very least.

Free speech notwithstanding I believe that the makers of this film should not in any way profit from it since it was designed to be as offensive as possible to the Islamic world.

Local Ethnic Food

I live in a small town in Adams County Pa. where there are a large number of orchards and with that being the case we have quite a lot of Mexican neighbors.

For a short period of time there was a nice elderly Mexican lady that would come around door to door and sell her homemade Tamales. She had Chicken and Pork.

These are the best Tamales that I have ever had anywhere and suddenly they are no longer to be had. I strongly suspect that one of the town busybodies noticed what was going and reported it since god forbid you should buy food from someone that did not pay an arm and a leg to be licensed by whoever would license around here.

I feel pretty certain that it was racially motivated since my introduction to this town when we first moved here was when I walked into the bank to open an account and the woman teller apologized that there had been a “wetback” in front of me in line.

I don’t know if I got her fired but I went right to the manager and complained and it was not long after that I did not see her anymore. Possibly just transferred to another branch.

I am so sick and tired of being told how much we have progressed in solving the racial discrimination problems. We may have hidden it from the view of large venues but believe me that in many parts of small town America that view is still alive and well.

Intolerance

It is a sad thing that in the year 2012 we still have such incredible intolerance of other Religions, Cultures, and Skin Colors.

Everyone will tell you we have been making great strides in all these areas. I suppose we have made some progress. We no longer have slaves, we also no longer have water fountains and lunch counters that are white only.

We now have groups that are doing everything they possible can do to prevent other religions from practicing their faith in peace.

There are incredible cries of terrorism when a mosque is proposed. There are churches that lose their affiliations when they do something horrible like allowing a homosexual (who can believe in their deity every bit as much as anyone else) is put into a position of authority.

We have politicians and a few judges that are maintaining that Christian Values are all that matter in government which is in direct opposition to the Constitution that they are supposed to uphold.

The Constitution of the United States reads “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”. Rick Santorum with all his baloney is saying, by the definition of his words, that he wants to establish that we must follow Christian principles in everything which absolutely violates the 1st Amendment.

Those who protest mosques are also in direct violation of the 1st amendment.

Out biggest problem with much of the world is that we have far too many people in position that the rest of the world can see who are so incredibly intolerant that they really should never be allowed to have anything at all to do with politics or policy anywhere.

Why is the Contraception Issue So Upsetting to People

There are now 7 states that are filing lawsuits because of the contraception mandate. This whole argument is ridiculous. By playing that whole “It foes against the beliefs of the Catholic Church” card they open up a few other issues. It would be one thing if contraception was forced on the employees but it is voluntary for the employees to make use of it. Those that are Catholic and have those same beliefs will not use it. Those that are not catholic may very well make use of it. By refusing to allow it, employers that are wholly or primarily religious in nature are then forcing their beliefs upon the employees that are not of that same religion which flies right in the face of Freedom of Religion.

There are those that will say then just don’t go to work for those companies that have those beliefs and stipulations in their health care plans. That is an easy thing to say but it points out another problem. If we go that route then we are actually giving companies a way to discriminate against those who do not have their beliefs by making their health care something that would be unhelpful for those of different beliefs.

Now admittedly that would not be obvious discrimination but it would be discrimination none the less.

Get a grip people. It is really not the end of the world to allow people of different beliefs to be comfortable and to have access to basics that conform to those beliefs. If you do not want to do that then start posting advertisements offering jobs and noting that you must be a practicing Catholic in order to apply. Unless the opening require an ordination of some kind within the church I suspect that the results would be somewhat less than desirable from an HR and PR perspective.

Good luck with that!

Religion and Politics

Does it strike anyone as odd that todays politicians are completely ignoring one of the things this country was founded on?

The Puritans came to this continent because they were persecuted and were not allowed to practice their religion in England.

Now we have many politicians telling us that we need to make sure this country gets back to it’s Christian roots. While the Puritans were indeed Christians, the reason they left, and one of the roots of our constitution, is the the right to religious freedom.

If our politicians believe so strongly that we need to be a completely Christian nation, then we are really no better than the Taliban from the stand point that one religion must be used to come to every answer needed by the country and the population.

For those that are now jumping up and down and screaming, I am in no way saying that I agree with the way the Taliban treats its people and particularly the women but the mindset (religious views ruling all) is the same.

Happy New Year

I was on Facebook very shortly after midnight local time here watching and commenting on some of the many Happy New Year posts that were coming through. A young man that I worked with pointed out that no one was giving thanks for the year that had past and what we had been given or what we had endured.

He was right. While there a few mentions from some of my friends overseas, they were rather few and far between.

I suspect in part this is because of how politically and socially charged religion has become. We have the Westboro Baptist Church which uses the 1st amendment of our constitution to say unspeakable things at the funerals of people who have died while the family and friends of the deceased person are still coming to terms with their grief.

We have groups that condemn anyone of Middle Eastern origin because they might be followers of Islam even though it is the radical few within Islam that are the terrorists and not by any stretch the majority.

We have people that will never vote for a Mormon for President.

What does this say about us all as inhabitants of the world. And we are inhabitants of the world. We must learn to all get along together because the world has become such a much smaller place.

It says to me that every single church must step back and look at its congregation and see what direction should be taken to try and bring things under control and to stamp out the hate as much as possible.

I am not against Religion. I do not go to church very often any more because listening to the all the completely unfounded gossip that comes with groups of people does not do anything at all to make Sunday a day of worship.

I am actually rather glad at this point that my job requires that I work on Sunday.

Do you get time off for your religious holiday observances?

It is that time of year when many religions have holiday observances. Hopefully your employer is one that allows you the leeway to practice your faith. Many employers are pretty good about that kind of thing with floating holidays and things like that.

Remember that if you are not given the opportunity to observe your religions holy days that the law requires any company with more than 15 employees to make accomodations for your religious observances as long as your absence that day causes no more than a minimal impact on the business.

Please also let your employer know far in advance. Don’t go to your boss the day before and say I need off for the holiday. In that case I highly doubt that you are going to get the day off.

Happy holidays to all no matter what your faith.
